I have been falling in love with overshot and have done several recent projects from Handwoven. My problem is that I am not, as hard as I try, able to beat my designs to square.
I am a “the longer the warp, the better” sort of weaver. I’ve discovered that if I plan a warp for a specific project and weave it, I develop ideas about variations I want to use on that warp while I’m weaving.
Chaining the warp with two hands may help you eliminate twisting of the warp as you beam.
Beaming on tightly and with even tension is important.

The treadling drafts in Handwoven are designed to be followed starting at the top (right under the tie-up) and working down. This is because we are accustomed to reading instructions (or text) working down a page rather than up a page.
