This morning Pantone announced its color of the year for 2024 and we're intrigued. Fellow weavers, meet Peach Fuzz.

"PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul." (See Resources)

From Pantone's announcement post by Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute: "Visually arresting and inviting, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a nurturing peach tone that inspires us to instinctively want to reach out and touch."

Ms. Pressman is basically describing the weaver's handshake, when two weavers upon meeting will reach out to touch each other's scarf or shawl as a form of greeting. It's part of our DNA, and the warmth and coziness of Peach Fuzz adds yet another reason to reach out and connect with each other.

You can look at Peach Fuzz in various ways: as a pastel, a warm neutral, and a timeless radiant hue in its own right. In short, Peach Fuzz is one of those colors that plays well with others. Many designers have used it effectively in Handwoven projects over the years. Here we've gathered just a few of them. Add a touch of Peach Fuzz, or go all in. Either way, we think this warm, inviting color was a great choice for the 2024 color of the year!
